THURSDAY – FEBRUARY 26TH
3:00 EASTERN 2 CT | 1 MT | 12 PT
What actually makes a good lesson horse for your program — and how do we find them?
This open roundtable is a shared discussion space for instructors, barn managers, and program leaders to explore the realities of sourcing, evaluating, and selecting horses for adaptive programs. Rather than expert answers, this conversation centers on collective experience: what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what we’re all still figuring out. We’ll talk about prices, temperament, soundness, training background, donations, leases, trial periods, and long-term sustainability — all through real-world stories and peer insight.
This is not a training or a presentation — it’s a space to think together, problem-solve together, and learn from the lived experience of others doing this work.
Tuesday, March 10th
12:00 EASTERN 11 CT | 10 MT | 9 PT
Waiting lists are no longer just a program-level issue — they’re an industry-wide reality in therapeutic and adaptive riding programs across the country. This roundtable creates space for honest, open conversation about what’s truly driving this problem: capacity limits, staffing shortages, horse availability, funding structures, program models, community demand, and systemic barriers to access. Together, we’ll explore not only why waiting lists exist, but brainstorming what we can do about this in our programs without over-facing our programs.
Rather than viewing waiting lists only as a bottleneck, this conversation invites us to think differently: How can we transform waiting lists into opportunities — for families, riders, programs, and the growth of the industry itself? We’ll share ideas around engagement models, pre-program supports, community partnerships, education pathways, alternative services, and sustainable growth strategies that benefit both those waiting and the organizations serving them.
This is not a solution-selling session — it’s a collaborative space for shared insight, big-picture thinking, and collective reimagining of what waiting lists could become for our programs and our profession.
Tuesday, March 24th
1:00 EASTERN 12 CT | 11 MT | 10 PT
Every barn has its own personality — and in therapeutic and adaptive riding, the way we organize our facilities can make a huge difference for safety, accessibility, volunteers and overall program flow. In this roundtable, we’ll go on a “virtual tour” together: you’ll see other programs’ setups, and share yours — clean, messy, or right in the middle of lessons it doesn’t matter!
We’ll explore everything from mounting areas and accessible, to tack rooms, feed rooms, wash racks, and creative organization systems. This is a space to show, tell, and learn from each other — not to critique, but to inspire and spark ideas you can take back to your own program.
Whether your barn is big or small, urban or rural, this is a chance to see the ingenuity of peers across the country, share practical tips, and celebrate the unique ways adaptive programs make their facilities work for riders, volunteers, and staff.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15TH
8:00 PM Eastern (7 CT / 6 MT / 5 PT)
Progress may not always mean “moving up a level” — and that’s okay.
Not all riders move steadily forward in their skills. Some participants age into new limitations, others experience progressive conditions, and many find their goals evolve over time. In this deeply human session, we’ll talk about reframing progression in therapeutic/adaptive riding: what it means when traditional markers of advancement aren’t realistic, how to honor rider dignity and agency, and ways to design meaningful goals that truly support quality of life — whether that’s emotional connection & comfort with the horse, or confidence in daily living. Let’s explore how to communicate about progression with families, caregivers, and referring professionals in ways that honor the rider’s journey without minimizing challenges.
This is a safe space for honest, compassionate dialogue — as we navigate each others stories, tough questions, and insights about why lesson progression may not be at the forefront of the lessons.
MONDAY, MAY 4TH
1:00 EASTERN 12 CT | 11 MT | 10 PT
This roundtable is a collaborative space for instructors, directors, and program leaders to openly share what they’re trying, what’s working, and what feels hard when it comes to funding their programs. There’s no single model and no expert formula — just real programs navigating real constraints. We’ll exchange ideas around grants, donors, events, sponsorships, partnerships, and community support, grounded in honest conversation rather than “best practice” claims.
Come to listen, contribute, and connect — not to be taught, but to learn alongside peers who are building programs just like yours.
While these Connection Calls are completely FREE to attend, your investment is showing up live and connecting with others.
Your thoughts, presence, and willingness to engage in real conversation are what make these calls meaningful. When each person comes ready to share ideas, ask questions, or simply listen with intention, the experience becomes richer for everyone.
While the calls are usually recorded, the recordings are only shared with those who participate as a way to preserve a sense of trust, openness within the group.
